Once again, we have to deal with his
autocratic abuse of presidential power, his constitutional ignorance, his
obstruction of justice and concealment, his lawless demagoguery, his
pathological narcissism, his grandiose delusions, his anti-social
personality disorder, his malignant arrogance, his moral relativism, his
white nationalism, his perfidious nationalism, his hateful racism, his
infectious nihilism, his outrageous iconoclasm, his ruthless competition, his
puerile dereliction, his embarrassing idiocy, his provocative transgressions,
his mocking disrespect, his impetuous vulgarity; his belligerent intimidation,
his incessant lying, his conspiratorial gaslighting, his obsessive
vindictiveness, his hypocritical cowardice, his compulsive xenophobia, his
callous misogyny, his insufferable bigotry, his disgusting buffoonery, his
histrionic rallying, his dangerous idiocy, his sociopathic bullying, and his incompetent sycophants.
These facts should also make us think about our moral values, principles and
fundamental truths: for they are the foundation of our moral sentiments which
prescribe, persuade, and command us to do what we believe, and feel, is right.
What is right is what complies with our moral duty. Because most of us live as
social, rational human beings, we have implicitly consented to moral and social
contracts that have been devised. It is because we have a shared set of moral
and legal expectations for our conduct, that makes it imperative to appeal to a
public sense of justice (regardless of political party affiliation).
Furthermore, it is because we understand why moral precepts are beneficial for
all of us that we have the Rule of Law, established in the U.S. Constitution and, therefore; we must protect and defend the basic Principles
of Democracy.

Today’s message is a variation of the one I’ve included at the bottom of all my posts since the day after the election: practice self-care. it’s okay to step away from the news for a day. There is no reason for anyone to torment themselves today by doom-scrolling — and there is not one goddamned reason on Earth to give this asshole one second of your attention.
ReplyDelete“All these journalists are like, ‘Congresswoman, are you going to the inauguration? are you going to the inauguration?’ — let me make myself clear. I don’t celebrate rapists. so no, I’m not going to the inauguration.”
There are so many better ways we can be spending our time. Today is Martin Luther King Day. let’s honor his memory. and let’s dishonor a certain spiteful man-baby.
Here’s a quote from Dr. King that’s never been more relevant than it is right now. “We need leaders not in love with money but in love with justice. Not in love with publicity but in love with humanity.”
How prescient was that? America is about to go through some things. this hurts a lot, I know. remember, we’re all in this together. let’s be here for each other. Today, we rest. tomorrow, we put our shoulder to the wheel, and deal with the shitfuckery ahead of us.

Let me leave you with one piece of very good news. this morning, during his final hours in office, President Joe Biden issued preemptive pardons to General Milley, Dr. Fauci, and the January 6 Committee members.
“These are exceptional circumstances, and I cannot in good conscience do nothing,” Biden wrote in a statement. “Baseless and politically motivated investigations wreak havoc on the lives, safety and financial security of targeted individuals and their families.”
Thank you, Joe. We’re going to miss you.
